Day in the Life: Brooke Ansel
After Brooke Ansel had taken Professor Jeff Allen’s graduate finance class at Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business, she received a LinkedIn message from Professor Allen asking if she’d have interest in an Associate position at Prudential Capital Group’s Dallas office.
“Professor Allen said Prudential Capital Group was looking for an Associate and thought the job might be a good fit for me,” Brooke said.
Brooke spoke with the team at Prudential Capital Group’s Dallas office and came away impressed with the culture, the ability to be in an active, client-facing role almost immediately, and the autonomy awarded Prudential Capital Group’s Associates.
“I have ownership over what I do. Team Leaders empower Associates to make suggestions and recommendations during the underwriting process as well as with our marketing efforts,” Brooke noted. “At the same time, we collaborate extensively among the team and with senior management. What has surprised me the most is that I have even more autonomy than I initially expected, which makes every day motivating and exciting.”
Prudential Capital Group’s Associate Training Program included visits to most of Prudential Capital Group’s regional offices to meet many senior leaders and deal teams, giving Brooke an opportunity to “develop relationships with peers that will last throughout my career.”
She described the extensive training as “centered on understanding Prudential Capital Group’s credit underwriting process and how we approach the market. It included case studies and presentations designed to help us take an immediate, active role in the business."
“I work with an extremely intelligent group of individuals. New challenges each day contribute to my development as a finance professional and add to the true enjoyment and satisfaction I get from being an Associate at Prudential Capital Group.”
