Morgana Davids
Associate, San Francisco

Day in the Life: Morgana Davids

For Morgana, two qualities at Prudential Capital Group attracted her to accept a full-time Associate position in the San Francisco office: high levels of involvement in the entire deal process and the people at Prudential Capital Group.

After working in New York for a company focused on senior lending in the healthcare space, Morgana chose to attend business school on the west coast. “From my experience in healthcare lending, I knew I enjoyed both engaging in direct dialogue with management teams and digging into investment analysis. However, I was interested in gaining exposure to a broader set of industries and deal structures."

During her MBA studies at the Berkeley-Haas School of Business, Morgana spent the summer interning as an Associate in the Prudential Capital's San Francisco office.

“I was impressed by the lack of ‘sharp elbows’ in the company culture. Spending the summer working with extremely smart, experienced investors who cared deeply both about the overall success of the team and the well-being of their clients was highly motivating.” Morgana continued, “The internship gave me an opportunity to experience the challenge and variety of the Associate role. Over the summer, I worked on a wide range of projects, including credit quality analysis on a restaurant, annual portfolio monitoring for an equipment rental business, and a pitchbook for a data center REIT.”

For Morgana, “the most exciting part of the internship was working on a live deal for an industrial REIT. I was involved in the entire process, from due diligence and meeting with the company, to analysis and underwriting, to presenting the proposed investment for approval.”

When asked what her favorite part of working at Prudential Capital Group is, Morgana said, “Prudential Capital is unique. The degree of involvement from origination, to underwriting, to portfolio monitoring is very rare.” She continued, “I am learning something new every day, either about an industry, a deal structure or a new way to approach business development. The senior leaders give everyone an opportunity to weigh in on deals and these discussions help us develop our skills as investment professionals.”

“The pace and variety of this job can be challenging, but it is also immensely rewarding. We develop strong relationships with our colleagues, make a meaningful impact through the capital we provide to our clients, and experience a broad range of industries and business models.”
